We had a beautiful day exploring at Hull's Woods today. Students shared ideas about how animals survive in the winter and we focused on vocabulary like hibernate, adapt and migrate. Ask your child to share an example of an animal adaptation, an animal that migrates and an animal that hibernates. Students learned about animals that live in Fish Creek Park, looked for signs of them and built a home for the animal to live in over the winter.
Their second activity involved plant identification and using descriptive words to talk about the trees and shrubs they observed. They spent most of the morning exploring then sketched in the afternoon as we looked through some pictures we had taken.
